kwi-chang‘s old HMT-003 Mandibula is a LEGO mecha masterpiece. A non-AFOL friend who’s big into anime sent me a link to kwi-chang‘s work and I was reminded of this MOC’s fantastic blend of style and (implied) function. I particularly love that this high-tech robot’s design is so reminiscent of creatures in nature—a raptor, crouched t-rex, or some sort of large bird perhaps? I’d love to work on a “MEET” interview with this prolific builder and pick up some tips on building believable yet mind-transporting designs of future technology. Until then, enjoy this great example of what great LEGO mecha can look like.
